Everyone Has a Story to Tell; Sometimes, Just a Listening Ear Is All They Need.

Each of us has a story to tell. All of us can speak of joy, happiness, hardships, trials, life lessons, love, life and death, faith and family, losses, hope, disappointments, and boy, could I go on.

Though we may relate to someone when they are telling us their story, we haven’t walked their path. Our life stories are different and notable. Worthy of being heard.

I love to listen to elderly people’s stories, even if they’ve told it to me over again. It may be someone who strikes up a conversation with me in a store, friend, neighbor, or relative. I enjoy listening. There are lessons to be had and joys to share with them. Just imagine the things they lived through during their lifetime. I’ve heard depression and WWII stories, hardships, lost loves, and stories of marriages of over 50+ years. I will sit and listen to you.

What is the most incredible story I ever read, you may ask? The God-breathed word of the Bible. It’s our life instruction book or manual if you will. It holds our truths and living water.,It tells of our salvation. As Christians, when we repented of our sins and asked Jesus into our lives and proclaimed him as our Lord and Savior. It allowed for us to

“ Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)

And so began a new story.
